Bird Decor

All of our Talavera pottery and decor is handmade and individually painted by skilled artisans in Mexico using 100% lead-free paint and glaze. As a result, no two pieces are identical. Each piece will vary slightly in color, shape, and size. You will not receive the exact product pictured unless the description says so. In most cases, you will choose a primary color, such as a blue or a red pot rim, but the rest of the pot will be a random multi-color design. Occasionally, items have "imperfections," such as a paint or wax resist drip or a smudge. This is part of the handmade nature of Talavera. We will not ship items that we consider flawed or damaged.

While our Talavera is weather resistant, it is not freeze or frost proof. We recommend bringing it indoors when that kind of weather is possible.

You may notice hairline "cracks" in the glaze of Talavera products that are left outside and become dirty. These fine lines are called crazing and it happens when the glaze shrinks more than the clay during the firing process. It is not a cause for concern. The lines have always been there, they are just visible now because dirt has settled in them. Simply clean the item and you shouldn't see them anymore.

Every planter has drainage.
